The FOD073L optocoupler consists of an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to a high gain split Darlington photodetector. The device is specified to operate at 3.3V. The split Darlington configuration separates the input photodiode and first-stage gain from the output transistor, which reduces output saturation voltage and increases operating speed compared to traditional Darlington phototransistor optocouplers. Integrated emitter-base resistors provide best-in-class stability over temperature. The combination of an extremely low input current of 0.5mA and a high current transfer rate of 2000% makes this device ideal for interfacing with MOS, CMOS, LSTTL and EIA RS232C inputs while ensuring output compatibility with LVCMOS and high fanout LVTTL Require. An internal noise shield provides excellent common-mode rejection of 10 kV/µs.
